Do I Need an IICRC S500 for the WRT Class?
The IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) class is a technical water damage restoration course. The information we discuss in the course is based on the IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration.
While the information is from the S500 and referenced throughout the class, you do NOT need to have a copy of the S500 to take the course.
When you register for the WRT course, you will receive the following items to help you learn and study:
- WRT course manual
- Psychrometric Chart
- Air Movers & Dehumidifiers Calculation Sheets
- Study Guide
- WRT Review Questions (Practice Test)
If you are taking a live-stream course, you will receive these PDF documents in your course confirmation email. If you are taking an in-person course, you will receive them when you arrive at class.
While you don't need a copy of the S500 to take the WRT class, if you are performing water damage restoration services, we highly recommend getting a copy! You will be able to use it as a reference and follow industry standards.
You have multiple options to order an IICRC S500.
- Order a physical book
- Get a digital download
- Subscribe to all the standards (If you choose this option, use our referral code REME)
